New perspective Reza gold deposit (Gedabek ore district, Lesser Caucasus, Azerbaijan)

 The article describes Reza gold deposit of Ugur exploration area located in Geda- bek Ore District the Lesser Caucasus NW Azerbaijan. It is established that main mineralization consists hematite-barite-quartz-kaoline veins- veinlets and breccia, pyrite stock-stockverk quartz-sulfide veins. On orebody surface center secondary quartzites with vein-veinlets barite-hematite have occured over which remain accumulations hydrous ferric oxides cementing breccias quartz quartzites. “Reddish mass” also observed erosion parts, being an oxidation product stock stockverk limonite-hematite ores. Representing typical gossans, these by data trenches for thickness about 5-10 m contain 0.3-3.5 ppm silver 1.0-45.0 ppm. There are three zones within deposit: oxide mineralization; transition zone sulfide mineralization. mineraliza- tion clay-gravel weathering crust kaolinite type. gold-bearing has been oxidized to a depth ap- proximately 50-100 meters. Typically, coarser minor increase grade occurs compared original rocks. nugget effect does not exceed approximately 10%. Deposit alteration signature characteristics suggest current outcrop level may be near top mineralized, high sulfidation epithermal (HSE) system. at interpreted as forming shallow epith- ermal systems. noted well-confined hydrothermal breccia associated stock-stockwork. majority material estimates formed barite-hematite-quartz-kaoline quartzite brecciation stockwork hosted quartzite, sometime massive silicified andesite porphyritic rocks.
